Environment Canterbury Regional Council

At Environment Canterbury (ECAN) we provided an optimisation of new Ways of Working post occupancy, introducing enhanced flexibility and collaboration. Uncovering gaps in a property focused move to encompass people and process change to provide an integrated work experience for all.

Katherine Trought - Director of Strategy lead the programme.

Hear what she says about the work: "After we moved into our new building in Central Christchurch, we had a sense we may not have optimised the opportunity to cement in new collaborative ways of working across our workforce. Our 400 staff had been working flexibly from offices all over Christchurch since the earthquakes, and we wanted to make sure our building supported staff to really accelerate our work now we were all back together. We were referred to D-J & Stella by a consultant who knew us well. D-J and Stella worked with us, using their substantial experience and facilitation skills, to discover the opportunities presented by the new workplace, to get rid of any niggles, and to ensure staff felt the building and the spaces in it supported their work to the maximum. Be Confident helped us identify Workplace Principles and delivered a comprehensive set of practical key findings and recommendations that continue to stretch and refine the way we work within the walls of ECan. We loved working with them."
